Tallberga, tiny house in Sipoo

new building

A log-framed implementation of the Talo Naski concept house

The client wished for a colorful and playful tiny house that fits in with its environment.  We placed the house by a cliff on the edge of the field. This way, a sheltered yard between the new building, the old barn and the sauna is established. The exterior is painted with Falu red, and the main door with sage green linseed oil paint. A part of the interior will be plastered with clay.

The hygroscopic structures improve the indoor air and reduce the peak power needs of both heating and ventilation. The natural ventilation and heat retaining oven also work in off-grid situations. Easily recyclable massive wood walls make the building a long-lasting and climate-friendly carbon sink.  Tallberga becomes fault-tolerant and repairable, concisely life-cycle-free.

Tallberga was presented in the SAFA campaign “parempi pientalo” (better detached house) in the summer of 2024.
