Medieval roof structure restoration plan, 2007-2008

There are less than ten preserved medieval wooden structures in Finland, one of which is the roof of the old church in Sipoo. Livady produced a comprehensive study of the history, mechanical properties and condition of the medieval roof structure; studied the medieval construction methods; and put forth a restoration plan that preserves the logic and clarity of the original structure.
